West Braintree, Jacqueline E. Edmunds, 79, died Thursday evening, March 1, 2012 at Rowan Court in Barre.
She was born October 9, 1932 in Merrimack Port, MA the daughter of Ludger A. and Dora (Lamontagne) Ouellette.
Jacqueline was raised in Tunbridge and graduated from S. Royalton High School. She moved to Bethel in 1950. She was married to Merton G. Smith, Jr. in 1951 in Bethel. Mr. Smith died in 1998. She was later married to Arden Edmunds in 2000 in Randolph. Mr. Edmunds died in 2008.“Jackie” ran the cafeteria at Vermont Technical College for 17 years. She then worked in the Environmental Services Dept. at Gifford Medical Center, retiring in 1999. Her memberships included St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Bethel, she was a 7th Degree member of the Middle Branch Grange #463 and Gifford Medical Center Auxiliary.
She is survived by 2 sons; George Smith and Jeffrey Smith both of Randolph, 6 daughters; Anna Clemons of Bethel, Jean Cooper of Ewing, NJ, Ruth McCourry of Ashville, NC, Mary Russell of Trumbull, CT, Donna Johnson of San Antonio, TX and Susan Elizabeth Schreiner of Montrose, B.C., Canada, 3 sisters; Gertrude Sherlock of Tunbridge, Constance Carmichael of VT and Caroline Edmunds of Essex Jct., a brother Dr. John Ouellette of Madison, WI and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 A.M. Monday, March 5th at St. Anthony’ Catholic Church, Bethel with Rev. Kenneth Ekekwe officiating. Calling hours will be held Sunday, March 4th from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. at the Day Funeral Home, Randolph. Burial will be at a later date in the Brookfield Center Cemetery.
