RUTH A. BOYCE, 101, of Montpelier, died Monday afternoon, June 11, 2012 at Woodridge Nursing Home in Berlin.
She was born Feb. 19, 1911 in Three Rivers, MA; the daughter of Alphonse and Mary Ellen (Henderson) Henrichon. She attended Palmer, MA schools, and graduated from Pittsfield (MA) Hospital School of Nursing. She was married to Dwight A. Boyce in White Plains, NY on Nov. 11, 1942. Ruth had worked as a nurse at Ludlow (MA) Hospital, Belchertown State Hospital, Gifford Medical Center in Randolph, and as charge nurse at the Eastern Star Home in Randolph. Ruth lived most of her Vermont life in West Brookfield before moving to Montpelier. She was a member of the Beulah Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include her daughter, Elaine Ruth Boyce of Orange, VT; 2 grandchildren, Mary Ellen Sanders and Christopher Fernandez; 3 great-grandchildren, Tre Torres, Celina Torres, and Addisyn Fernandez. She was predeceased by her husband in 2003, and by brothers,Lewis, Ernest, Edward, Alphonse, Jr., Raymond, Earl and Sidney Henrichon.
Graveside Memorial Services at West Brookfield Cemetery, will be held Saturday, June 23rd at 11:00 A.M. with a gathering to follow at the home of Elaine Boyce and Sam Frank in Orange.
